Production Planner

The Production Planner will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time and within budget. You will analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity to create efficient production plans while monitoring the production process, track progress, and adjust schedules as needed to address any bottlenecks or delays. The Production Planner will collaborate with various departments to coordinate material procurement, resource allocation, and delivery timelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review sales forecasts and current orders to assess inventory status and upcoming production needs.
  • Create / evaluate/modify purchase orders to support developed production schedules.
  • Verify resource availability (material, equipment, and labor) required for production to deliver excellent customer service at optimal inventory levels.
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that customer service deadlines are met.
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.)  in related field with a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as Production Planner
  • Sound knowledge of MRP (Manufacturo) and ERP (SAP) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working in a complex manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.   
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers. 
  • Must be able to lift twenty-five pounds at times.  
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.

PAY: 71k – 86k

This base pay range is for the role located in Los Angeles, California and in the US and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
